Hispanic Heritage Month Summit

September 23 @ 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Illinois Diversity Council brings forth a celebration of history, culture and contributions for Hispanic Heritage Month. The theme; “Be Proud of Your Past, Flourish in the Present, Embrace the Future” honors Lantinx Communities whose ancestors come from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Attendees will be diverse and the offering will provide an opportunity to enhance cultural competency for those outside the culture as well as a celebratory reflection for those inside the culture. We will dive into the historical context of Hispanic Heritage observances, colonization and migration storytelling and explore the rich regional representation. Latinx leaders at each professional level will share how they remain authentic and finally subject matter experts will “Look Back to Go Forward” for Pandemic impacts and opportunities to press forward. Join us for this half day immersive experience.
