Labor Union Organizing and Relationship Building

May 3 @ 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM

As campaigns gear up for the 2022 primary and general elections, it’s important to build relationships with local labor unions in your district early in the cycle to work together for victory in the fall. Join RUN NOW on Tuesday, May 3 at 1:30pm ET to learn the intricacies of how to build meaningful relationships with labor unions for your campaign. Click here to sign up.

Labor unions can be powerhouse organizing partners for your campaign – but it’s important to know how to communicate with union leaders and stand in solidarity with union members before asking for their support. Some unions have a thorough application process and it’s imperative to respect the process. Come learn how to do this from our expert trainer, Caroline Fan.

Caroline’s first job out of college was at the AFL-CIO’s media shop where she helped workers and union presidents tell their stories. She has enjoyed a long career working with labor and politics as an SEIU organizer, Deputy Director at the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO, and more. She previously sat at the AFL-CIO Political Directors’ table where she assisted in making endorsements across the country. Click here to learn how to work with unions from an expert!

Caroline will discuss how unions help campaigns by giving endorsements, providing volunteers, including a candidate’s name on their walk cards, activating their members to vote for endorsed candidates, and how to acquire financial support.
