Resistance and Radical Reimaging, featuring Professor Dorothy Roberts
May 20, 2021 @ 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Please join the Women’s Medical Fund, based in Philadelphia, for their “Rosie Jimenez Awards Night 2021: Resistance and Radical Reimagining“, honoring Professor Dorothy Roberts. Thursday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Rosie was the first known person to die as a result of the Hyde Amendment. Giving an award in her name has become a tradition at our annual Spring Reception. This year, we are renaming the event Rosie Jimenez Award Night to honor Rosie’s life while celebrating a champion of abortion liberation!
We’re delighted to give this year’s Rosie Jimenez Award to Professor Dorothy Roberts, renowned scholar, author, educator, and activist, whose book Killing the Black Body: Race, Reproduction, & the Meaning of Liberty revolutionized public discourse regarding the reproductive justice of Black women in America. The intimate Zoom conversation with Professor Roberts will be moderated by Dr. Seneca Joyner, WMF’s Director of Community Organizing and resident abortion historian. Join us in celebrating this champion of abortion liberation!
Registration is required but free. $35 donation suggested.
