This workshop focuses on the characteristics and formative life experiences of five American generations and how their presence has shifted the workplace culture. It explores how each generation generally prefers to interact, contribute, and be rewarded for their results. Your personal assumptions, biases and approach to the workplace will be challenged as you seek to understand the views and formative experiences of generations that are different than your own.
- Define the characteristics, formative life experiences and work ethics commonly associated with each generation.
- Identify diversity-related tensions that may occur between multiple generations.
- Determine the risks and consequences associated with failing to effectively manage the needs and expectations of each generation in the workplace.
- Identify best practices for embracing and leveraging a diverse workforce.
