The Rockford Area Pride Parade is a spirited and inclusive event, and we want you to be a part of it! The Route has been selected for its historic representation of the long march of LGBTQIA+ liberation. The route passes in front of the Rockford City Hall (the local legislative branch) and passes within one block of the Winnebago County Courthouse (the local judiciary), each of these representing important factors in the rights and liberties of LGBTQIA+ people.
The main parade route is on State Street in downtown Rockford and begins at Charles Street, marching west. The route crosses the Rock River over the State Street bridge. After crossing the river and continuing a few blocks, the Parade turns north on Main Street and ends at Park Avenue (Beattie Park).
Roads will be closed and barricaded along the parade route. Vehicles can cross the eastern parade route on 6th Street, 3rd Street, and Second street. Crossing on the western parade route can be accomplished at Wyman and Jefferson Streets.
